Here's the update: got a one-piece, alloy long seat post with built-in pump.
That's good.
It's 0.4mm fatter than the old one, so I'm going to shave down the plastic collar in the frame so it fits a little nicer.
That's medium.
It's two inches shorter than I really want to be above the pedals.
That's bad, and I'm really not sure what I'm going to do about it. I have an idea, but I have to research it a bit.
Eric -- if I can get a hold of something that works better, and you're interested, This one will be for sale. The pump is nice.
The blue bag, meantime is a totes branded one. I got it at an outlet mall a couple of years ago to put half of our folding kayak in (what is it with me and folding forms of transportation?). It fits the folder very nicely with no padding, and snugly but doably (better if I remove the seat) when I put a 3/8" closed-cell foam sleeping pad in for protection.

Oh no! I've been worrying about just this thing happening! What are you going to do?
Also, where'd you get your blue bag? :-)
Uh oh indeed.
